On completing their design brief form, it was clear the client was very keen on displaying their work well with imagery on the home page. We decided that we would base the design around this concept, with the home page structured around 1 hero image, that would contain testimonials, and would fade through a collection of examples of EventAngel's work.
To complete the above concept Flash would be needed, however the client was keen to have a site that was very "search engine friendly" and while seo support for flash is improving we wanted to build the site primarily out of xhtml and css. We made this combination possible by building the flash file with transparent parameters and embedding it into the site using swfobject and then layering the html navigation over the top using a combination of absolute and relative positioning techniques.
It is always important for any company to have a website that achieves its goal, in this case it was to recieve a contact form, from prospective clients. To make this as achievable as possible we built the contact form into the footer which was repeated in everypage, with design features to draw your eye through the text and down into the contact form.
